Solicitor
You'll need a solicitor to undertake the legal work associated
with the property purchase. This will ensure your Shared
Ownership Home is legally bought and registered in your
name. It's vital your solicitor understands Shared Ownership
purchase, which is slightly more complex than a whole property
purchase. Furthermore, the situation may be a little more
involved if you have a learning disability.
We've discussed the complete process with the firm of solicitors
called Howlett Clarke. We're satisfied this firm will provide
you with great service. You won't be required to pay any
legal fees, they will be covered as part of the scheme.
If you prefer, you can appoint your own solicitor but you
will be responsible for any legal fees you're charged. However,
if you do appoint your own solicitor, we'd be pleased to
make a contribution of £200 towards your costs.
